celebrating the 24th

Two weeks ago my family & I went up to my sister's house to spend some time in cooler country. It also happened to be the weekend that they celebrate the 24th of July, otherwise known as Pioneer Day. For those that don't know what this is, it is the day that we as Latter-Day Saints celebrate when the Pioneers reached the Salt Lake Valley & settled that area. It marks a great part of our religious history. A lot of the small towns in Arizona celebrate this special day. We went to a parade in the morning, my older girls went to some youth dances & we got to watch fireworks. This was a big highlight since we didn't get to watch them on the 4th of July this year.

These aren't the best pictures (I have yet to master the fireworks shots), but I still like these few.
